Macarthur (formally Mount Annan)
In 2009 Mount Annan celebrated 15 years as a club of WZ Physical Culture and Dance. It also was the beginning of some changes for the club. A move to a new location at Robert Townson Primary School, Raby proved to be a positive step for our club as we happily welcomed lots of new members.
The club continued to enjoy wonderful results in the 2009 Competitions. A total of 30 members competed in the heats competitions, with 22 making it through to Grand Final. From 22 finalists, we achieved 11 places, 3 Dance awards and 5th Place in the Club Championships.
During our time as Mount Annan we have celebrated many successful years in both the team competitions and at Grand Final. We are very proud to have held 3rd place in the Club Championships in 2006, 2007 and 2008.
We are also very proud of the accomplishments of all our members over the years including the high achievements of; Tahlia Quinn WZ Intermediate Champion 2007 & WZ Champions of Champions 2007
Amelia Lia -WZ Junior Champion 2008
2010 brings the beginning of a new era as we change our name to Macarthur. Whilst many things have changed for us in recent times, one thing has remained the same “We have fun and love doing our physie”.
Our Teachers are:
Belinda Ostridge has being doing physie since the age of 3 years old. Throughout her years of physie she has gained various places at Grand Final. In 2003 at the age of 14, Belinda started her first year of teaching as an assistant teacher, the following year she began teaching her own class of 5-8 year olds. In 2008 she was a member of the WZ Performance group and has also choreographed routines for WZ. Belinda loves her physie and enjoys teaching the 9-12 year olds.
Denise Wilson has being doing physie for 42 years, this year being her 22nd year with WZ. Over the years she has gained various places at Grand final and in Team competitions. In 2003 she started teaching and currently teaches the 3-4 years, 5-8 years, Teenagers, Seniors and Ladies. She enjoyed being a member of the 2009 WZ Performance group and has for the last three years choreographed routines for WZ. Denise’s love of physie, is not only for the joy of teaching or doing physie but for the wonderful friendships she has made.
