Welcome to WZ Physical Culture and Dance for 2010
Both June and I wish everyone safe and prosperous 2010. We would like to thank all our Clubs, Teachers and members for making 2009 a great year
Congratulations to all our Clubs for their hard work in 2009.
While our clubs maintain a strong individual competitive spirit, their sportsmanship towards each other is highly commendable. Each year the friendships that have been created between clubs grow stronger, and the positive and enthusiastic attitude of our exceptional teachers is the reason for this. This spirit and attitude will make the Association resilient and allow us to prosper with new clubs and increased membership.
2010 sees the return of our Erskine Park Club. We are very excited to have Kim, Lauren and Nicole, previous members of the Club, return to this area to re-open this club.
2010 also sees the move of our Parramatta Club to The Hills area and a change of name for them to The Hills-Parramatta Physical Culture Club.
Another change for 2010 is Mount Annan Club changing it’s name to Macarthur. This club moved from Mount Annan in 2009 so it was logical to change it’s name to save confusion.
The Leotard competition was a huge success in 2008 and it is time to run the competition again for the 2011/2012 leotards. We would like to invite all members of WZ Physical Culture and Dance to enter this competition. If you would like to have a go please download the Entry form and template, design your leotard and submit it to your teacher in a sealed envelope addressed to the Managers of WZ Physical Culture and Dance. Click here for The Entry Form and Information.
There have again been major changes to the Rules and Regulations this year so please make sure that you read them carefully. It is important that you check the size of your hair pieces, if they are too big you will be asked to remove them before competing. The judges have also commented that a lot of competitors are wearing jewellery and nail polish – there has always been a rule that only wedding bands can be worn and no nail polish. If there is anything that you do not understand please ask your teacher.
For a long time now, the Senior section has been graded differently to the rest of the Association. This year, we have decided to change that so that the Seniors will be graded the same. Basically, 1st Year section will become B Grade and the 2nd Year section will become A Grade. The Open and Advanced sections will remain the same. This will mean that if there are enough brand new Seniors, these girls will be able to compete as ‘C’ Grade. This also means that we will need to have a grading day to work out who goes into B and A Grade. You will be advised when this day is organised.
Open to all clubs within WZ Physical Culture and Dance.
